Reflections
from align and getting out there
What a big weekend!
Happy Juneteenth, Happy Solctice, Happy Fathers Day, and Happy Pride.
May we all be free. May we all shine.
Here is a little reflecting that came as I was writing to the spring ALIGN particpants, and I thought it worth shaping and sharing with you readers.
May we all be cared for, courageous, and kind.
best,
Tracy
Creating and sharing ALIGN is such a pleasure to me, it is a place I can land regularly. It has started to take on a life of its own, things come up and through that I would never have predicted, practices emerge and we play in them together.
No matter the method through which others take it in, (live, remote, more or less frequency,) as a teacher, it is the consistency that gives me a permission to relax, trust, and let things flow. This is something I have noticed about the way I learn, starting in my twenties when I began to teach movement at a Pilates studio with a waitlist. I had an instantly full schedule, even as I was getting my footing, and what that gave me was a kind of hit the ground running, sink or swim kind of feeling where I exponentially learned from trying, failing, trying again, sometimes having clicks and A-HA’s, and then trying again, without a lot of time to ruminate along the way.
I see this kind of ruminating hesitancy very present in the world right now, people are afraid. They are afraid to start, they are afraid to continue. There is a kind of policing through the internet-- yes, but I think it is also something else, maybe an aftermath of the pandemic shutdown, maybe a freeze response to the horrors of the world, maybe a certain lack of embodied necessity that keeps us getting up, going out the door, and just simply moving along. Moving along in our own towns, neighborhoods, places among the trees.
Align, for me, gives me permission to move along, if I don’t get something in one day I know I will have many more chances, I don’t feel a pressure to get it all going at once because I know it is the layers of practice that make a cohesion. And, let’s face it- facilitating at such an early time of today for me doesn’t give me time for a lot of hand wringing before I show up, I just .. show up, sometimes partially in my dream state.
So thank you, Whether you are in ALIGN or just reading these newlsetters, I hope it offers depth without preciousness, opportunities for consistency, exploration and integration, belief in your own abilities to be intuitive, embodied, playful, psychic, and most of all to try and fail, and try and succeed, and to simply move along.
love you all,
Tracy
